Putting our people first

Inclusion may sound simple – but doing it well means confronting bias and changing how things really get done.

For leading UK law firm Freeths, that commitment shows up in meaningful action: a supplier code of conduct that drives ethical standards across its entire supply chain; a comprehensive benefits package supporting health and financial wellbeing; and inclusive policies for working parents and those undergoing fertility treatment.

That dedication has been formally recognised, with Freeths named a Mayor of London Good Work Standard employer, achieving the highest distinction, excellence.

The Good Work Standard celebrates organisations that go above and beyond to create fair, inclusive and rewarding workplaces. It recognises outstanding practice across four areas: fair pay and conditions, workplace wellbeing, skills and progression, and diversity and recruitment.

By joining the Good Work Standard community, Freeths not only strengthens its position as a responsible, values-driven employer, but also gains opportunities to collaborate with like-minded organisations to advance fairness and inclusion across London and beyond.

Reflecting on the achievement, Freeths’ equality, diversity and inclusion manager, Lou Silver, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be recognised at the excellence level of this honour, which reflects our deep commitment to creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, valued and empowered to thrive. This people-first culture is embedded in our ethos and consistently demonstrated across our policies, processes, benefits and all 13 of our offices nationwide. It’s a testament to how we continue to evolve as a responsible business.”

This recognition follows a series of recent accolades for Freeths, including Investors in People Gold status, a place in the Top 30 Employers for Working Families, and its designation as a Tommy’s Pregnancy and Parenting at Work Champion.
