15 September, 2020

Nick Jeffrey is to be Baker Tilly’s new Director of Professional Standards, succeeding Paul Winrow who has moved to a partnership role in the network’s UK member firm, MHA.

Nick will be responsible for driving our network’s commitment to professional standards and helping us continue to build a brand known for quality, integrity and excellence, as well as leading our assurance and financial reporting technical support and training. He will also assume a key role in representing the network in the accounting profession.

Nick brings a wealth of experience to the role, primarily in developing policy and regulation to cover professional excellence, competition, education and governance. He has advised on technical and professional issues both globally and locally, including influencing policy makers.

Speaking on the appointment, Ted Verkade, network CEO, said: “I am delighted to welcome Nick to our team. Here at Baker Tilly we pride ourselves on being advocates for our profession and speaking out on the issues that will shape our clients’ tomorrows. Nick’s experience will enable us to ensure we continue to drive change within our profession to build a bolder future.

“Our members provide audit and assurance services across a range of industries and geographies. Ensuring we have robust methodologies and a quality assurance programme is paramount to maintain the trust of the business community in our brand. I look forward to working with Nick and his team in continuing to develop our culture of quality, integrity and ethical behaviour.”
